The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian By Sherman Alexie

Did you know that Sherman Alexie's books were being banned by a group of people in United States? Well he is an excellent author and I was so upset when I heard about his work being banned. Not too long ago I read the book written by him The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian. I enjoyed this book very much. At first I didn't think that I would like the book but my mom suggested it and she asked me to give it a shot and read it. This story revolves around Junior a young American Indian man living on a reservation in the state of Washington. The reader is able to understand his life and those that are close to him including friends and family members. Alexie takes the readers on a journey through the teen years of Junior's struggles at the reservation school and how he is able to eventually overcome the way others treat him when he attends a school off of the reservation.  I recommend this book for teen audiences and hope that they will enjoy this book as much as I did.
